A few minutes of slow, deliberate touch across the head. Not brushing — something closer to being looked after.
What’s in the set
- Handcrafted brass and wood massage comb. The brass bristles have rounded tips, so they move across the scalp without scratching.
- Glow Rituals Botanical Infused Oil, 1 fl oz (30 ml), in the scent you chose.
- A cotton pouch for storage, in an eco-friendly gift box.
It works on the scalp and through the length of the hair, and it is just as good on the neck and shoulders at the end of a long day.
- Use it on dry hair with oil, or on towel-dried hair. Not on soaking wet hair.
- Start with light pressure. You can always add more.
- The oil is what lets the comb glide without pulling — don’t skip it on dry hair.
The ritual, step by step
- Part your hair and work a little oil into the roots. A few drops is plenty.
- Start at the hairline and draw the comb slowly back across the head, with light pressure.
- Work across the whole scalp in slow passes — the crown, the sides, the tight band above the ears, the base of the skull.
- Carry it down the neck and shoulders if you are holding tension there.
Pace and pressure
Slowly, always. The point is not to cover the head quickly but to feel each pass. Light pressure at first, increasing only if it feels good.
How long
A few minutes of deliberate attention. This is a ritual you can do while the kettle boils.
Which oil to choose
Rosemary Vitality is the one to reach for if the scalp ritual is the reason you bought this — it is the infusion made for scalp stimulation and hair health. Lavender Calm if you do this in the evening.
If you want to leave the oil in longer: work it into the roots, leave it for 20 minutes, then wash your hair as usual. Refills: the Botanical Multi-Use Ritual Elixir.
- Wipe the comb with a soft, dry cloth after each use.
- If it is oily, a slightly damp cloth with mild soap — then dry it immediately.
- Avoid soaking the wooden handle in water for long periods, to preserve the natural wood finish.
- Keep it in the cotton pouch it came with.
- Light pressure. If it pulls, add oil rather than force.
- Skip any area where the scalp is broken, irritated or sunburned.
- This is a self-care ritual rather than a treatment. If you are worried about hair loss or a scalp condition, a dermatologist is the right person to see.
